The take software
for dubbing and ADR.
Import the script, set timecodes while the picture plays, link to Pro Tools or Nuendo and export the finished script – all in one window.
Everything a taker needs.
From the raw script to markers in your DAW – no detours through spreadsheets and paper.
Script import
RTF and Word (DOCX): tables with role and text, “ROLE: text” or finished scripts including timecodes and episode.
Timecodes on the fly
Play the picture, press I for TC IN and O for TC OUT – DF ADR moves to the next take by itself. All frame rates incl. drop frame.
Frame-accurate video
Frame by frame with audio, J-K-L shuttle, speed ×0.5 to ×2 and video on a second screen.
DAW link
Linked to Pro Tools or Nuendo, the video follows playback. Click a take – the DAW jumps there.
Takes as markers
New takes appear automatically as markers in Pro Tools (2023 and later) or as cycle markers in Nuendo.
Status on the stage
A = recorded, N = retake. Progress and filters always show what is still open.
Voice actor planning
Assign roles to voice actors, estimate the remaining time and build a schedule for the studio days – print or PDF.
Studio exports
Script as PDF or Word, CSV for Nuendo, Nuendo track archive (XML), MIDI markers and dispo lists.
Timeline & roles
Track timeline, roles window with share, search across the whole script.
Four steps to a finished script.
Import the script
Open an RTF or DOCX file – roles and lines are detected.
Load the video
Open MP4 or MOV, set episode, frame rate and start TC.
Set timecodes
Set TC IN and TC OUT for every take while it plays.
Export
Script as PDF/Word, or takes straight to Pro Tools or Nuendo.
Works with Pro Tools and Nuendo.
The DAW sends timecode (MTC), DF ADR sends start, stop and locate back (MMC). On the Mac, DF ADR creates the ports by itself.
